Promenade

This promenade had its origin on the set 10230 Mini Modulars (the five buildings at the left of the first bridge). It is 115 cm (45 inches) by 102 cm (40 inches) and consists of approximately 9.380 pieces.

As it has been constructed in several phases, I will go indicating each of them:

* e = 2,7182818... More info here.

Phase 1: March 2013

This phase is 89 cm long and it has more than 3.200 pieces.

The post office is one of the new buildings, of tan/stone colour and it is based on the post & telegraph office of Ophir, New Zealand, from 1886.

Next to it we have a white square, with a central fountain, statues on the sides, upper balconies and a tower. It is the Mini version of my Old Square modular building.

At the end of the promenade it can be seen a reproduction of a typical Dutch house, although I have taken some liberties as the existence of balconies and the lateral garden. It is the Mini version of my Dutch House modular building.

At the other end of the promenade the town's lighthouse is located. It is based on the Tower of Hercules, which is in A Coruña (Spain), and with its 57 meters is the second tallest lighthouse in Spain, beaten by the one located in Chipiona. It is form the 1st century and it is the only Roman lighthouse and the oldest still working in the world.

On the roundabout behind the lighthouse it can be observed the statue of the Celtic King Breogan, that is located at the base of the Tower of Hercules.

At the centre of the promenade we have a bridge with four ogive arches and double central platform. It has a separated area for the pedestrians. On the rear it can be seen a Spanish flag and at the front there is a statue of Christopher Columbus pointing West.

The promenade is completed with road and pavement next to the beach. It can be observed on both beaches entries to them and a line of wet sand.

Of the cars that can be seen on the road, three of them are taken from the set 10214 Tower Bridge, and the other three are based on the same standard and are a grey Hummer, a red convertible and a black Lincoln Town Car with white roof.

Phase 2: June 2013

With this phase the promenade reaches 115 cm in longitude and has more than 5.000 pieces.

On the left of the promenade appears a white hermitage surrounded by trees. It is based on the classical white American churches, and it is situated over a stone ground.

A greater detail of the hermitage and be seen on the following photos:

Behind the hermitage we discover a green area with a central lake. The lake is crossed by several wooden walkways so the pedestrians can cross it.

The idea for this extension is that it seemed as a single original green area and that across it a road has been built. The road has a curved part in order to border the hermitage.

In addition, and differently from the rest of the buildings, the hermitage is not perpendicularly situated with respect to the road. In order to achieve this, a couple of revolving pieces have been used to which the hermitage are joined and tiles on the border on which the hermitage rests.

The new vehicle is Otto's bus, from The Simpsons.

As improvements to Phase 1, we have waves on several parts of the promenade.

And at least we have the first visitors to the promenade:

¡They are C-3PO & R2-D2! Maybe they have seen the sand on the beach and have mistaken it for Tatooine...

And to finish, an overhead shot of the promenade:

Phase e: July 2013

Note: e = 2,7182818... More info here.

Only some vehicles and thus the number.

It is Batman's Tumbler from the Christopher Nolan's trilogy in the both versions shown on the films.

And its complement, the Batpod:

Phase 3: November 2013 (Its last bow)

This subtitle 'Its last bow ', variation of the title of the last adventure of Sherlock Holmes, allows me to introduce the last and bigger extension of the Promenade.

A general view of the Promenade. It is 115 cm by 102 cm (4,5 x 4 BP) and consists of approximately 9.380 pieces.

Beginning with the sea, on the left down corner we have a wave, with a surfer in its interior.

Next it can be seen the tail of a whale when it is diving:

A breakwater protects the swimmer zone:

And a reef inspired by the Piedra Salmedina of Chipiona can be seen next, with a marker to indicate its location to the ships.

To the right there is a fisherman hut:

And as aquatic vehicle, a little catamaran:

The Simpsons are about to enter the hermitage.

In the right beach, the centres of the Silver Medal team on London Olympics: Felipe Reyes, Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka, with the clothes of their respective teams. They are a plate taller.

In the back, it can be seen a new square.

The front part is inspired by the Plaza Mayor (main square) of Salamanca.

Detail of the columns and the part of the clock:

To allow the firefighter truck to use the back exit of the Fire Brigade, the floor of the square is a plate lower and has a different tone of grey:

Beside the Cafe Corner we can see the mini version of Piano Shop by nxtorm.

With a droid playing the piano:

And a new vehicle: a tram from Lisbon.

To allow the tram to cross the ria, a new bridge emerges from its waters, inspired by on the bridges that cross river Sarine in the Swiss town of Fribourg.

And finally a garden crossed by the tram tracks,

with a little trick:

That is called to sign a MOC.

And to finish, an overview shot of the whole promenade:
